The State Bank of Vietnam has completed the first cohort of its leadership development programme for regional branch leaders, a five-day course for current managers and succession candidates at its regional branches. Thirty-seven participants, including regional branch directors, deputy directors and division heads earmarked for those posts, were certified as having completed the programme, and eight were recognised as outstanding participants. The course was organised by the Organization and Personnel Department with the Banking Academy and related units from 1 to 5 June under the Governor's direction. According to remarks at the closing ceremony, the curriculum covered leadership, governance, policy implementation and task execution in the new operating environment, including the new operating model for State Bank of Vietnam regional branches. It also focused on strengthening professional knowledge, management methods and the ability to analyse, forecast and address issues arising in practice. At the closing ceremony, Permanent Deputy Governor Doan Thai Son asked the Organization and Personnel Department to continue developing more systematic and specialised training programmes, and called on units across the banking sector to support ongoing staff development.
