The Hong Kong Monetary Authority has published an alert from Hong Kong Interbank Clearing Limited (HKICL) about fraudulent websites that impersonate HKICL and claim to provide buyer protection, refunds, unauthorized transaction reporting and transaction support for FPS payments. The identified domains include fpshk.cc, fpshkicl.homes and refundrequesthk.xyz, which may appear with different link endings. Some sites also seek users’ identity documents, photographs, phone numbers and bank account details by offering cash rewards or virtual wallet services. They may direct users to fraudsters posing as customer service personnel on WhatsApp. HKICL said the sites are unaffiliated with it and emphasized that it does not directly provide FPS services to individuals or ordinarily contact them proactively.
