Peru's Superintendency of Banking, Insurance and Pension Funds (SBS) has launched the “Arequipa Ahorra” short story contest as part of World Savings Week (SMA), aimed at raising financial awareness among secondary school students and teachers in Arequipa’s public and private educational institutions. The contest has two categories: students in the first through fifth years of regular secondary education, and teachers in Arequipa regardless of employment status. Stories may be submitted in Spanish or an indigenous language. In the student category, SBS will recognise the top three entries and award two honourable mentions, while the teacher category will have a single winner; submissions will be assessed by a jury of writers and specialists in literature, communication and financial education. Entries will be accepted from 19 to 31 March 2025.
