The Eurasian Group on Combating Money Laundering and Financing of Terrorism completed training for 29 prospective assessors on the updated methodology for evaluating compliance with Financial Action Task Force recommendations and the effectiveness of national anti-money laundering, counterterrorist financing and counter-proliferation financing systems. Participants from financial intelligence units, supervisory authorities and law enforcement agencies in Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan completed practical exercises simulating mutual evaluations in the current round. The training prepares participants to serve as assessors, reviewers or national experts, with further sessions planned under the group’s 2026-2027 work plan.
