The China Securities Regulatory Commission reported that its chair, Wu Qing, visited Paris and Rio de Janeiro between 10 and 13 November 2025 and held bilateral meetings with the Chair of the French Financial Markets Authority (AMF), Marie-Anne Barbat-Layani, and the Acting Chair of Brazil’s Securities and Exchange Commission (CVM), Otto Lobo, alongside CVM Commissioner Marina Copola. The discussions covered developments in securities market regulation in France, the European Union and Brazil, and ways to further expand practical bilateral cooperation in capital markets. During the France and Brazil leg of the trip, Wu also met international institutional investors including Société Générale, BNP Paribas, Barclays, UBS Group and Pictet Group, as well as representatives of Chinese corporates and financial institutions operating in France and Brazil. These meetings were used to communicate the policy messaging of the Fourth Plenary Session of the 20th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, present investment opportunities in China’s capital markets and gather feedback on advancing high-level opening-up.
