UK Parliament has invited individuals and organisations with expertise or an interest in the Finance (No.2) Bill 2024–26 to submit written evidence to the House of Commons Public Bill Committee, which will scrutinise the Bill’s remaining provisions line by line. No oral evidence sessions will be held. The Public Bill Committee is due to meet for the first time on 27 January 2026 and is expected to report by 5.00 pm on 26 February 2026, although it may finish earlier, after which it cannot accept further written evidence. Parts of the Bill have already been considered by the Committee of the Whole House and will not be revisited by the Public Bill Committee, including provisions on income tax charge and rates (clauses 1 to 8 and schedules 1 and 2), freezing of allowances (clauses 9, 10 and 69), agricultural and business property relief (clause 62 and schedule 12), inheritance tax on pension interests (clauses 63 to 68), gambling duties (clauses 83 to 85 and schedule 13), alcohol duty rates (clause 86), and any new provisions relating to those subjects. Information on amendments and the order in which they will be taken in committee will be published in due course on the Bill’s publications page, and amendments will not be revisited once dealt with.
