The Hong Kong Monetary Authority reported that Hong Kong’s official foreign currency reserve assets stood at USD 446.5 billion at the end of May 2026, up from USD 442.1 billion at the end of April 2026. Including unsettled foreign exchange contracts, the reserve assets amounted to USD 446.2 billion, compared with USD 442.1 billion a month earlier. The total foreign currency reserve assets of USD 446.5 billion were more than five times the currency in circulation and equivalent to about 38% of Hong Kong dollar M3. The figures were released as part of the Hong Kong Monetary Authority’s regular Exchange Fund data publications, which include releases made under the International Monetary Fund’s Special Data Dissemination Standard.
