The National Bank of Moldova has put into circulation a 2026 issue of 250,000 bimetallic 10 leu coins marking the proclamation of Moldova’s independence on Aug. 27, 1991. The coin features imagery of people against a stylized Moldovan flag and inscriptions commemorating the proclamation of independence. Security elements include a latent “RM” monogram, visible when the coin is tilted, and a “BNM” microengraving on the numeral one.
