The Ministry of Finance of Uzbekistan published a readout of talks between Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy and Finance Jamshid Kuchkarov and United Kingdom Ambassador Timothy Smart, which focused on expanding bilateral cooperation on economic reforms, measures to maintain macroeconomic and financial stability, privatisation and wider access to international capital markets. The sides agreed to develop cooperation further, promote joint projects in priority areas and continue dialogue. Priority areas included cooperation under the Green Inclusive Growth Fund, support for small and medium-sized enterprises, development of the venture capital market, expansion of private sector activity, financing for innovative start-up projects and their sustainable growth, and logistics and transport infrastructure. The infrastructure agenda covered initiatives to develop high-speed rail links and build modern toll roads, which the United Kingdom side said would support economic growth, improve logistics efficiency and strengthen regional integration.
