The Austrian National Bank has signed a security partnership with Austria's Ministry of the Interior and made its first joint initiative a nationwide rollout of the "Generations together safely" project. The programme is designed to raise awareness of secure payments and financial fraud, especially in the digital environment, with a focus on school pupils and older people. The partnership aims to strengthen citizens' resilience by providing information on payment security and common financial scam tactics while encouraging exchange between generations. Under the project, the OeNB and the Interior Ministry's "Together.Safe with our Police" programme will run project days in schools and senior facilities, where police and teachers will deliver practical guidance. The impact of the education measure will also be assessed through a voluntary phishing simulation.
