The Capital Markets Board of Türkiye announced that a financial literacy lesson jointly developed with the Ministry of National Education was delivered as the first class in all primary, lower secondary and upper secondary schools nationwide, with the aim of raising students’ awareness and basic competencies. The lesson covered conscious investing from an early age, saving habits, risks in the virtual and digital world, protecting students against schemes promising high returns in a short time, rented IBAN misuse, and financial security in digital channels, with delivery highlighted at ASELSAN Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School. The release also linked the school initiative to broader coordination work, including the Financial Literacy Platform launched on 22 May 2024 under the coordination of the Capital Markets Board of Türkiye, and the designation of 22 May as “Financial Literacy Day” via a Presidential circular. The Board noted that its financial literacy outreach has increasingly emphasised security since July 2025 through the “Cyber World and Financial Traces Project”, addressing digital fraud, rented IBAN victimisation, disinformation and information pollution, and reported issuing more than one million participation certificates across in-person and online programmes.
