The Central Bank of Barbados ran an in-person public education roadshow across St. James, St. Andrew and St. Peter to build awareness and readiness for BiMPay, the Bank’s national instant payment system scheduled for introduction in March 2026. Delivered in partnership with the Small Business Association’s Small Business Week roadshow, the six-hour tour included stops at markets, shops and restaurants where the Bank’s team, including Governor Dr. Kevin Greenidge, engaged directly with business owners, patrons and nearby communities on how BiMPay will support fast transfers regardless of financial institution and the potential benefits for entrepreneurs’ cash flow and record-keeping. The day ended at the Emerging Entrepreneurs Manufacturing and Services Trade Fair and Expo in St. James, where the Bank reported more than 100 visitors to its booth, alongside broader outreach that has included radio, television, newspapers, digital advertising, webinars and social media.
