The People's Bank of China hosted talks between Governor Pan Gongsheng and a delegation from the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government and Hong Kong financial authorities, exchanging views on the current macroeconomic situation and closer financial cooperation. Discussion topics included deepening connectivity between mainland China and Hong Kong financial markets, strengthening Hong Kong’s offshore renminbi market, supporting Hong Kong’s role as an international financial centre, and advancing high-level opening-up of the financial sector. The Hong Kong delegation included Financial Secretary Chen Maobo, Secretary for Financial Services and the Treasury Xu Zhengyu, Hong Kong Monetary Authority Chief Executive Yu Weiweng, and Hong Kong Securities and Futures Commission Chair Huang Tianyou and Chief Executive Liang Fengyi. People's Bank of China Deputy Governors Xuan Changneng, Lu Lei and Zou Lan also attended.
