Angola's Ministry of Finance reported that the country’s capital market has opened to nonresident investors, following institutional reforms and improvements to financial infrastructure. Speaking at Investor Day, Capital Markets Commission Chair Elmer Serrão said international participation could deepen the secondary market, increase liquidity, diversify the investor base and strengthen Angola’s integration with global financial markets. The opening comes alongside stronger macroeconomic indicators. Real gross domestic product grew 8.74% year over year in the second quarter of 2026, taking cumulative growth to 7.15%, while net international reserves reached about USD 15.3 billion in August and covered approximately 6.6 months of imports. Annual inflation slowed to 8.78% from 18.88% a year earlier, the BNA rate fell from 17.5% in January to 14.75% in September, and five-year and seven-year Treasury bond yields each declined by 250 basis points.
