The Luxembourg Ministry of Finance said Finance Minister Gilles Roth used a financial mission to Switzerland to formalise closer cooperation between the Luxembourg and Swiss financial centres. In Bern, Roth and Swiss Finance Minister Karin Keller-Sutter signed an agreement to establish a structured bilateral dialogue on financial matters, focused on shared priorities, with a first meeting planned by the end of the year. The mission, conducted with Luxembourg for Finance, included meetings with senior executives of Swiss financial institutions on the development of their activities in Luxembourg. Discussions with the Swiss side covered geoeconomic developments and their implications for both financial centres. Roth also signed a letter of intent with the University of St Gallen to support the creation of an MBA programme and a St Gallen presence in Luxembourg, and spoke at industry events in Geneva and Zurich organised by Luxembourg for Finance and at ACA and ALFI/LPEA seminars.
