In an address to economics graduates at the European University of Tirana, Bank of Albania Governor Gent Sejko emphasized that artificial intelligence and digitalization are reshaping banking and the wider labor market, increasing demand for professionals who combine economic knowledge with analytical and technological skills. He said institutions and markets need experts who can analyze data, use technology, understand artificial intelligence, manage cyber risks and make decisions based on advanced analysis, adding that future banks will be technology-driven institutions as well as financial ones. Against that backdrop, Sejko said the Bank of Albania is looking for professionals who can combine economics with technological expertise and continuous learning. He also stressed the value of cooperation between the central bank and academia in research, economic and financial analysis, and the identification of future researchers and finance professionals. The speech pointed to practical entry routes into the Bank of Albania and the banking system, including advertised positions, internships, collaborations and participation in scientific and educational activities, and highlighted the Bank of Albania's Governor’s Award for the Best Diploma as a channel for recognizing and recruiting strong students.
