The National Bank of the Republic of Tajikistan reported that its chairman, Firdavs Tolibzoda, participated in an IMF directors’ consultation for the Middle East and Central Asia held alongside the IMF and World Bank Spring Meetings, and that Tajikistan’s delegation also joined a meeting of Caucasus and Central Asia ministers and central bank governors with IMF Deputy Managing Director Bo Li. The IMF consultation included a briefing on the region’s monetary situation and discussions on global economic uncertainty, financial market volatility, financing for climate-change projects, preparing financial sectors for a green transition, and the role of authorities in mitigating climate-related risks. The separate high-level meeting covered regional economic ties and cooperation within the IMF constituency, including implementation of IMF programmes, green financing priorities, economic digitalisation, and trade integration, with participants noting the importance of ongoing dialogue with the IMF.
