The Hong Kong Monetary Authority (HKMA) published an update on the eighth Hong Kong–Switzerland Financial Dialogue, held in Bern on 29 January and co-organised with Switzerland’s State Secretariat for International Finance (SIF), aimed at strengthening bilateral collaboration in financial services and exchanging views on issues affecting the global financial system. Discussions covered regional and domestic outlook and policy challenges, alongside developments and potential cooperation in sustainable finance, fintech and market connectivity. The Dialogue was chaired by HKMA Deputy Chief Executive Darryl Chan and SIF Deputy State Secretary Christoph König, with participation from the Swiss National Bank, the Swiss Financial Market Supervisory Authority and the HKMA. A follow-on private-sector seminar, co-hosted by the Swiss Bankers Association and the Hong Kong Private Wealth Management Association, discussed artificial intelligence in banking, digital assets, and cross-border opportunities and challenges, and explored further collaboration.
