The Thailand Office of Insurance Commission is coordinating insurance assistance following the Aug. 28 fire at Bangkok’s Khlong Thom Center, which damaged the building, retail premises, property and vehicles. A preliminary review found that the building held property all-risks insurance with Deves Insurance Public Company Limited, subject to the policy’s coverage and conditions. The commission has asked Deves Insurance to assess the damage, verify coverage and process eligible claims promptly. It is also checking whether affected shops, other property and vehicles were insured and will coordinate with relevant insurers where coverage is identified. Damage assessment and verification remain underway, with the commission monitoring insurers’ claims handling.
