The Central Bank of the Philippines (Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas, BSP) welcomed International Monetary Fund (IMF) Managing Director Kristalina Georgieva during her 11–13 March 2026 visit to the Philippines, part of the IMF’s regional outreach aimed at deepening collaboration with the country. Georgieva held a courtesy meeting with BSP Governor Eli M. Remolona, Jr. During the visit, Georgieva reaffirmed the IMF’s commitment to support the Philippines’ efforts to foster a prosperous, inclusive, and resilient society, in a context where the Philippines holds the ASEAN chairmanship in 2026. The BSP underscored its long-standing partnership with the IMF across economic surveillance, policy dialogue, and capacity development. The BSP signalled it will continue to engage with the IMF and support global and regional initiatives that promote monetary and financial stability and sustainable economic growth.
