Moderated by Sebastião Manuel, adviser to the CMC Board, the 7 October session brought together Catarina Ferraz of Portugal’s Securities Market Commission, Paulo Carvalho of Brazil’s Securities and Exchange Commission, and Virgílio Évora of Cabo Verde’s General Audit of the Securities Market. Discussion topics included international experience in tackling financial fraud, effective investor protection mechanisms, approaches to detecting and preventing market manipulation, and the role of regulators in defending and promoting investors’ rights.
