The State Bank of Vietnam held a kickoff meeting in Hanoi for the 2025 Knowledge Partnership Program (KPP), jointly organised with the Bank of Korea and Chungnam National University, focused on enhancing the State Bank of Vietnam’s capacity in balance of payments statistics. The KPP is an annual cooperation programme intended to support research and statistical capability to inform monetary policy operations and financial stability. The meeting brought together Bank of Korea representatives, Korean academic experts and relevant State Bank of Vietnam units, and included presentations covering the KPP overview, the State Bank of Vietnam’s current balance of payments statistics practices, and the Bank of Korea’s balance of payments statistical framework, including its legal basis and databases. Representatives of the international cooperation functions of both central banks signed a minutes of discussion to implement the 2025 KPP, with the initial discussions used to gather inputs for an outline of the programme’s research report and to prepare subsequent implementation steps.
