The Argentina Securities Commission (CNV) reported on vice president Sonia Salvatierra’s participation as a speaker at the Merge Madrid conference (7–9 October), where she presented Argentina’s regulatory approach to tokenisation and the regulation of virtual asset service providers (PSAVs), and outlined current opportunities and challenges for developing the capital markets. Salvatierra spoke on the panel “Tokenisation in Argentina and the European Union: regulatory vision and next steps” alongside Alfredo Muñoz (digital assets specialist and legal adviser at Tritemius & Ceca Magán), and highlighted the enactment of Argentina’s tokenisation and PSAV regulations as positioning the country at the forefront of the region. She also joined the DARTE Series (Digital Assets Round Table Experts Series) roundtable, which discussed cross-border implementation of the EU Markets in Crypto-Assets Regulation (MiCA) and KYC/AML standards, prevention for the appropriate use of cryptoassets, development of a common taxonomy for assets and decentralised tools, and the use of artificial intelligence in compliance and supervisory processes.
