The Monetary Authority of Singapore has opened applications and nominations for the 2026 Global FinTech Hackcelerator and the Singapore FinTech Festival FinTech Excellence Awards, with artificial intelligence a central theme across both initiatives. The Hackcelerator, organised with the Global Financial Technology Network, is seeking proposals from FinTech firms and solution providers on using AI to address credit and fraud risk modelling in digital banking, wealth management for digitally native clients, and business risk assessment and management for small and medium-sized enterprises. The awards, jointly organised with the Singapore FinTech Association and supported by PwC Singapore, will recognise corporate and individual FinTech solutions that have shaped industry practices, expanded financial inclusion and improved financial services delivery. For the Hackcelerator, GXS, Julius Baer and Zurich Insurance have each provided challenge statements based on live business priorities. Up to 20 finalists will pitch at the Demo Day during the Singapore FinTech Festival on 18 November 2026, and the winner of each problem statement will receive SGD 80,000. After the competition, each corporate champion may choose one finalist for a pilot, subject to mutual agreement. Separately, eight FinTech Excellence Award winners will be announced at the festival, with this year's thematic category highlighting innovative applications of AI. Applications for both the Hackcelerator and the awards close on 14 August 2026. Winners will be announced at the Singapore FinTech Festival FinTech Excellence Awards Dinner on 19 November 2026.
