The Central Bank of Peru reported that Peru’s non-traditional exports totaled USD 1.745 billion in April 2026, up 3.4 percent from a year earlier. The increase was driven by a 4.4 percent rise in average export prices across all sectors except fishing, with siderometallurgical products standing out because of high metal prices. Export volumes fell 1.0 percent as shipments declined in most sectors, although higher agricultural and chemical exports partly offset the drop. By destination, non-traditional exports increased to all markets except Asia, including China. Higher shipments to the European Union and the United States were led by agricultural products, while exports to Latin America were supported by chemical products. Weaker exports to China and the rest of Asia mainly reflected lower prices for fishery products amid abundant jumbo flying squid supply and a high comparison base from April 2025. In the year to date, non-traditional exports reached USD 7.112 billion, up 3.3 percent from the same period of 2025, supported by a 28.6 percent increase in siderometallurgical export prices and a 47.2 percent rise in fishery export volumes. Non-traditional agricultural exports reached USD 770 million in April, up 7.9 percent year on year, helped by both higher prices and volumes. Volume growth was led by grapes, pomegranates and avocados, while prices rose notably for asparagus because of weather-related production problems in the United States and Europe and for mangoes because of lower Peruvian supply. In the year to date, non-traditional agricultural exports totaled USD 3.529 billion, up 5.5 percent, mainly on stronger volumes and, to a lesser extent, higher prices.
