The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission has appointed Kathleen M. Hutchinson as director of its Office of International Affairs, formalizing the leadership of the office responsible for advising the Commission on international policy matters, coordinating cross-border enforcement and supervisory cooperation with foreign authorities, and providing technical assistance. Hutchinson had served as acting director since January 2025. She joined the SEC in 2003 as an attorney-advisor in the Office of Compliance Inspections and Examinations, now the Division of Examinations, and moved to the Office of International Affairs in 2008. Her previous roles in the office included deputy director and assistant director, and she has twice served as acting director.
