The Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) has launched the Financial Intelligence Fusion Center (FIFC), a secure portal designed for FINRA and its member firms to share timely intelligence on cybersecurity and fraud threats and coordinate responses. The FIFC is intended to collect, analyze and disseminate threat intelligence to improve firms’ awareness of emerging risks and support faster mitigation. It also draws on FINRA’s existing partnerships to incorporate input from other government and private sector partners, and was developed under the FINRA Forward initiative to improve FINRA’s effectiveness and efficiency. FINRA piloted the portal last year with a diverse set of member firms, which used the platform to access FINRA threat intelligence products and share their own cyber and fraud intelligence, and FINRA is encouraging firms to opt in. The launch expands FINRA’s broader suite of member resources, including guidance on cybersecurity programs, vulnerabilities, cyber-enabled fraud and emerging scams.
