National Bank of Moldova Governor Anca Dragu met German diplomatic and Bausparkassen representatives to discuss financial-sector cooperation and Moldova’s deeper integration into the European financial system. The talks covered the German-European Bauspar savings and lending model and the central bank’s priority of exploring an interconnection between its MIA instant payments system and the Eurosystem’s TARGET Instant Payment Settlement platform, which would enable rapid euro transfers between Moldova and the European Union. The discussions also reviewed Moldova’s accession to the Single Euro Payments Area, the modernization of domestic payment infrastructure and continued alignment of national legislation with the EU acquis and European Banking Authority standards. Dragu reiterated that the central bank is monitoring inflation and is prepared to take necessary measures to maintain price stability, alongside structural reforms, stronger financial-sector governance and prudent monetary policy.
