The Bank of Greece reported that the central government cash balance recorded a surplus of EUR 1.013 billion in January to April 2026, compared with a surplus of EUR 1.874 billion in the same period of 2025. Ordinary budget revenue rose to EUR 22.451 billion from EUR 22.232 billion, while ordinary budget expenditure increased to EUR 21.600 billion from EUR 19.796 billion.
