The Cyprus Securities and Exchange Commission announced that the Council of Ministers appointed George Karatzias as chair and Loukas Lagoudis as vice chair on Sept. 15, 2026. Andrea Moundis Savvides was appointed as a member of the board. Karatzias identified modern and effective supervision, stronger investor protection, market transparency and support for innovation and sustainable capital market development as priorities. He previously served as the commission’s vice chair from September 2021 to April 2024 and subsequently as an executive board member of the Central Bank of Cyprus.
