The Thailand Securities & Exchange Commission attended the 50th International Organization of Securities Commissions Annual Meeting and the Qatar Financial Markets Authority Conference in Doha from 12–15 May 2025, using the forums to exchange views on key capital market regulatory issues and cross-border cooperation. As an IOSCO Board member, SEC Secretary-General Pornanong Budsaratragoon participated in the Board meeting covering major market occurrences and jurisdictional impacts, cooperation with online platforms to deter online fraud and scams, regulatory standards for digital asset and cryptocurrency supervision, and regulatory guidance and risk management for Artificial Intelligence adoption in capital markets. Discussions also addressed challenges in applying supervisory technology in market oversight and IOSCO policy directions aligned with current global developments. The SEC also held bilateral and stakeholder meetings with the Monetary Authority of Singapore, the Securities and Futures Commission of Hong Kong, and organisations including the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development, the Asia Securities Industry & Financial Markets Association and the World Federation of Exchanges, sharing Thailand’s capital market development plans including sustainable finance, technology adoption and enhanced transparency.
