The Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) announced that Sanjay Chandrakant Purao has taken charge as an Executive Director in Mumbai. He will be responsible for the Corporation Finance Investigation Department, the Recovery and Refund Department, and the Internal Inspection Department. Prior to the appointment, Purao served as Chief General Manager and has worked across multiple SEBI functions since joining in 1996, including surveillance, market regulation, investment management and corporate finance, and he previously headed SEBI’s Hyderabad office. He has also participated in domestic policy and advisory committees and in international committees focused on cooperation with overseas regulators.
