The Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority of India (IRDAI) announced that its Chairman, Ajay Seth, unveiled the Bima Sugam India Federation (BSIF) website, positioning it as the first visible milestone in building India’s Digital Public Infrastructure (DPI) for insurance under the Bima Sugam initiative. The website is presented as a common gateway for customers, insurers, and intermediaries and as a public source of information on Bima Sugam’s vision, governance, and progress. IRDAI linked the initiative to the national vision of Insurance for All by 2047, while BSIF indicated that platform capabilities will be rolled out in phases with a focus on security, compliance, and scalability. Under a Board-approved roadmap, the marketplace is expected to progressively go live with real transactions as insurers and other ecosystem partners complete integrations over the coming months.
