The European Central Bank has published a shared values charter developed with national central banks and national competent authorities in the European System of Central Banks and Single Supervisory Mechanism. The voluntary public commitment establishes four common values for participating institutions: trust, engagement, care and a growth mindset. Signatories commit to act with integrity, transparency and accountability, encourage employee engagement and continuous learning, and support the well-being of colleagues and society. The charter recognizes social dialogue as a foundation for trust and engagement while allowing institutions to retain their own local values. An accompanying employer value proposition translates the framework into messages on impact, growth, stability and community for current and prospective employees. The document records the first signatories as of May 12, 2026. The list will be updated quarterly as additional eligible institutions join.
