The Central Bank of Türkiye and the National Bank of the Republic of Kazakhstan have signed a Turkish lira–Kazakhstani tenge bilateral swap arrangement, enabling the two central banks to exchange local currencies up to TRY 28.0 billion or KZT 423 billion. The arrangement was signed in Washington, USA by Governor Fatih Karahan and Governor Timur Suleimenov. It will be effective for three years and may be extended by mutual agreement, and is intended to support bilateral trade through a swap-financed trade settlement facility and broader financial cooperation between the two countries.
