The Egypt Financial Regulatory Authority and the Ministry of Youth and Sports have signed a memorandum of understanding to help young entrepreneurs develop fintech and nonbank financial services ideas into viable businesses. The partnership will use the FRA-Sandbox to provide regulatory guidance and supervised testing, while connecting qualifying projects with incubators, accelerators, investors, venture capital funds and other financing networks. The initiative will deliver training, workshops and innovation challenges across Egypt, covering business model development, financial literacy and technology applications in insurance, nonbank finance, financial leasing, factoring and capital markets. During its first year, the sandbox received more than 50 applications, granted preliminary approval to nine projects and moved two into live testing. Joint working groups will develop implementation plans and monitor the agreed programs.
