Bermuda’s Ministry of Finance announced that Premier and Minister of Finance David Burt attended Chainlink’s SmartCon 2025 in New York and used the event to deepen engagement with global finance and technology leaders and promote Bermuda’s regulated digital finance framework, including the Digital Asset Business Act (DABA). During the conference, Burt met executives from firms including New York Life Insurance, Chubb Insurance, Euroclear, Bank of New York, Apex Group, OpenExO, Coinfund, and the Global Blockchain Business Council, and participated in a fireside discussion on Bermuda’s leadership in digital finance. The visit focused on outreach to U.S. and international digital asset businesses considering DABA applications, with discussions spanning digital payments, free AI education and upskilling opportunities for Bermudians, and efforts to reinvigorate Bermuda’s hedge fund sector; Ministry of Finance and Bermuda Monetary Authority representatives supported the delegation.
