The Japan Financial Services Agency has published the results of its consultation on draft amendments to the Comprehensive Supervision Guidelines for Insurance Companies covering small and short-term insurance businesses, updating the supervisory framework to reflect the 2025 revised Insurance Business Act and related implementing rules. The revised guidelines will apply from 1 June 2026, the date the amended Act enters into force. The consultation ran from 19 March to 19 April 2026 and generated one comment on the draft amendments. The agency published a summary of that comment and its response, together with a comparison table showing the revisions. Comments not directly related to the proposal will be retained as reference for future financial administration.
