Hong Kong’s Financial Services and the Treasury Bureau announced that the Financial Secretary, under authority delegated by the Chief Executive, has appointed five new members and reappointed 22 serving members to the panel of the Insurance Appeals Tribunal (IAT) for a term running from 26 July 2025 to 25 July 2027. The five new appointees are Professor Hui Kai-wai, Ms Janet Li Tze-yan, Professor Rita Li Yi-man, Professor Isabella Poon Wai-yin and Ms Wong Yuen-chi, while five outgoing members were thanked for their service. The IAT is a statutory tribunal under the Insurance Ordinance (Cap. 41) that reviews specified decisions made by the Insurance Authority; each hearing comprises the chairperson and two ordinary members appointed from the panel, and the current chairperson is Mr Johnny Ma Ka-chun, SC.
