The Thailand Office of Insurance Commission, through its Advanced Insurance Institute, held an orientation for the 13th cohort of its insurance leadership programme in Prachuap Khiri Khan and Phetchaburi, combining briefings on the regulator’s role, insurance principles and preparation for a group research project. Opening the programme, Secretary-General Chuchart Pramoolpol outlined a supervisory reform agenda, including plans to implement full-consolidation group-wide supervision in 2026. The group-wide approach is intended to extend oversight across both individual insurers and insurance business groups, alongside greater investment flexibility within a tightened control framework. The agenda also covers developing more risk-appropriate insurance reserve calculation criteria, upgrading standards for supervising the financial condition and stability of life and non-life insurers under new rules, and promoting new requirements covering ESG, controls on agents and brokers, and electronic premium-payment channels.
