The National Bank of Moldova published its December 2025 monetary indicators, showing month-on-month increases in the monetary base and all main monetary aggregates, alongside higher bank deposits and claims on the economy. Broad monetary base rose to MDL 87,029.7 million (+6.8% m/m, +5.3% y/y). Cash in circulation (M0) reached MDL 50,135.8 million (+2.8% m/m, +13.5% y/y), while M1 totalled MDL 106,189.2 million (+5.0% m/m, +12.8% y/y), M2 MDL 144,602.0 million (+4.5% m/m, +14.6% y/y) and M3 MDL 190,477.6 million (+3.8% m/m, +12.3% y/y). Deposits in national currency stood at MDL 94,466.2 million, up MDL 4,916.5 million on the month and representing 67.3% of total deposits, while foreign-currency deposits (converted into MDL) increased by MDL 661.9 million to MDL 45,875.6 million (32.7%). Claims on the economy rose by MDL 2,009.8 million (+2.0%) to MDL 104,605.1 million, reflecting increases in claims in national currency (+MDL 1,798.4 million, +2.3%) and foreign-currency claims expressed in MDL (+MDL 211.4 million, +0.9%); foreign-currency claims expressed in EUR totalled EUR 1,214.3 million (+EUR 6.5 million, +0.5%).
