Ecuador's Superintendency of Banks reported that it has been monitoring intermittent disruptions to digital services at some financial institutions recorded between 30 June and 1 July 2025, and has activated its supervisory and continuous monitoring protocols to assess the incident and the restoration of services. The authority has required each affected entity to submit detailed technical reports to determine the causes of the disruptions, assess the timeliness of the technical response, and review the measures implemented to restore services. Technical staff are also carrying out on-site supervision at the affected entities to directly verify the service recovery process, and institutions have been instructed to strengthen their business continuity plans and ensure timely, transparent communication to users.
