The National Bank of Georgia (NBG) published a notice that the International Monetary Fund (IMF) Executive Director has sent a congratulatory letter to Natia Turnava following her appointment as NBG Governor, and signalled an intention to continue collaboration with the central bank. The letter was signed by IMF Executive Director Jeroen Clicq and Alternate Director Marnix van Rij. NBG noted that Turnava was appointed by Georgian President Mikheil Kavelashvili after being nominated by the NBG Board, which recently added four new members following approval by the Georgian Parliament on February 6, bringing the Board’s composition to nine members.
