The Data Point Model Alliance, a joint initiative of the European Banking Authority, European Central Bank and European Insurance and Occupational Pensions Authority, has launched a consultation on enhancements to the Data Point Model metamodel. The proposed DPM 2.1 is intended to support more integrated statistical and supervisory reporting across EU financial regulatory frameworks, while reducing complexity, improving data quality and lowering reporting costs. The revised model introduces enhanced metadata versioning and extends the metamodel to accommodate logical data models. It is also intended to facilitate alignment between the EBA’s integrated prudential and resolution reporting frameworks and the European System of Central Banks’ Integrated Reporting Framework. The alliance separately published naming conventions to promote consistent metadata across reporting frameworks and support a common data dictionary. Comments are due by Sept. 30, 2026.
