Dutch Authority for the Financial Markets chair Laura van Geest used a keynote address at the DUFAS/CFA Society Netherlands Inclusive Leadership Event to call on companies to move beyond statements and plans on diversity and translate them into more tangible actions. Using a compass as a metaphor, she urged firms to “use the compass” not only in policy but in day-to-day practice, not only in reporting but in organisational culture, and not only in words but in decisions. The remarks linked diversity to rising expectations on financial institutions around transparency, relevance and social anchoring, arguing that diversity is not a luxury but a determinant of outcomes.
