The Egypt Financial Regulatory Authority said it participated, through Tarek Seif, executive director of its Financial Services Institute, in a joint meeting in Rabat of the International Association of Insurance Supervisors' Emerging Markets and Developing Economies Group and Protection Gaps Task Force. The participation followed Seif's selection as the first Egyptian member of the IAIS working group on natural catastrophe insurance protection gaps, representing the authority. The meeting discussed risk-based solvency regimes, digital innovation and cybersecurity risk, value delivered to consumers, and public-private insurance programs. It also examined how supervisors and policymakers can develop regulatory frameworks to address insurance protection gaps and improve insurers' capacity to provide more efficient and sustainable risk management solutions, in cooperation with international institutions including the World Bank.
