The Tanzania Insurance Regulatory Authority urged insurance companies to strengthen their capital positions, expand sustainably, remain profitable and improve services, linking a sound insurance sector to implementation of the National Development Vision 2050. Insurance Commissioner Baghayo Saqware delivered the message during strategic visits to insurers from Aug. 12 to 14, 2026. Insurers were also encouraged to increase investment, adopt technology, innovate products and services, and combat market fraud. The authority plans to continue working with insurers and improving the regulatory environment to expand insurance access and support employment, investment and national development.
