The Central Bank of Morocco (Bank Al-Maghrib) launched a web portal allowing citizens to access bank account information securely, autonomously and instantly, as part of its participation in Gitex Africa 2025 in Marrakech. The platform forms part of the central bank’s digitisation of “services of common interest” provided to the public through its branch network. The portal offers access to details of a customer’s bank accounts previously opened with local banks, including accounts that are closed, and enables heirs, proxies or legatees to request information on a deceased person’s bank accounts and collect the results from a Bank Al-Maghrib branch of their choice. It also provides cheque issuers with information on cheque payment incidents. Access is authenticated via the Directorate General for National Security’s system using official identity documents, and the portal is available at PortailUsagers.Bankalmaghrib.ma.
