The Central Bank of Russia released a new Inflation Expectations and Consumer Sentiment commentary showing that households’ one-year-ahead inflation expectations edged up to 13.0% in May from 12.9% in April and remained elevated. The update also recorded a rise in the consumer sentiment index, reflecting respondents’ current assessments and expectations for their personal wealth, the economy, and consumer market conditions. At the same time, business price expectations were down.

The Central Bank of Russia reported that households’ one-year-ahead inflation expectations in May edged up to 13.0% from 12.9% in April and remained elevated. The consumer sentiment index rose on improved assessments of personal wealth, the economy and consumer market conditions, while business price expectations declined.
