Sweden’s Finansinspektionen (FI) has issued a consumer warning against eight newly identified firm names that are targeting Swedish consumers while lacking permission to conduct financial business in Sweden. The names listed are Swedish Trust Bank, Invest Kapital, ECIBN, Suedfina, Wolf Markets, Globe Bitstrade, Nordic Alliance Bank and Somylan. FI says the fraudsters behind these names typically claim to offer investments, loans or other banking products, and it urges consumers to verify authorisation via FI’s company register; FI notes it has so far warned about 14 false firms this year and that warnings are also collected in the International Organization of Securities Commissions (IOSCO) database.
